Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sanjeev Jha shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and mocked Negi. “Making empty promises has become a profession for BJP leaders in Delhi,” Jha wrote, adding, “Perhaps fed up with the politics of lies and showing off, Yamuna maiyya herself called them to her side.”

Earlier, AAP Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj challenged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to prove her claim that the Yamuna was clean. Bharadwaj reached her residence with a bottle of murky, greyish water taken from the river.
“This is water collected from the Yamuna flowing through Delhi. We want to offer this water to Rekha Gupta ji. If she says the Yamuna is clean, she should drink it,” he said.

Chhath Puja, which involves devotees offering prayers to the Sun God on the Yamuna banks, has once again highlighted Delhi’s pollution crisis. Videos of dirty water and floating debris have gone viral, sparking public anger.
