The national capital continued to grapple with deteriorating air quality on Thursday as a thin layer of smog settled over several parts of the city, reducing visibility during the early hours. The overall pollution levels remained high, keeping the national capital firmly in the ‘poor’ category.

Overall AQI is at 287

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi recorded an AQI of 287 at 8 am, indicating poor air quality, reflecting the city’s ongoing battle with pollution in the winter months.

Several Areas Record ‘Poor’ Pollution Levels

Several monitoring stations across the city recorded continuously high readings. At 8 am, Aya Nagar reported an AQI of 246, Burari 295, Dwarka 289, and Lodhi Road 233. All these figures come under the bracket of ‘poor’, indicating widespread pollution across neighbourhoods.

Other major stations recording very poor air included Ashok Vihar at 332, Bawana at 335, ITO Delhi at 310, Chandni Chowk at 309, and Alipur at 315, indicating the gravity of air pollution across the city.
