Nationwide Activities Planned

The Centre has planned Constitution Day programmes from the Panchayat level to the Parliament. Schools, colleges, state departments, and local bodies will organise quizzes, cultural events, poster competitions, seminars, exhibitions and essay contests. The government aims to turn Constitution Day 2025 into a “national festival of constitutional values.”

PM Modi Urges Citizens to Uphold Duties

PM Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to uphold their Constitutional duties. He called them the “foundation of a strong democracy.” In a letter to the public, he encouraged educational institutions to celebrate first-time voters who turn 18 this year.

PM Modi also referred to Mahatma Gandhi’s belief that rights flow from the performance of duties. He stressed that social and economic progress depends on this mindset. He wrote on X that the Constitution places great importance on human dignity, labour and equality. He also paid tribute to the framers of the Constitution, stating that their vision still guides India’s path toward a Viksit Bharat.

ANI reported that the Prime Minister will join the main event in the Central Hall at 11 am. This year marks the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution.

Leaders Highlight Unity & Diversity

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan praised the Constitution. He said it reflects India’s “collective wisdom and enduring unity.” President Murmu addressed the gathering and highlighted India’s inclusive spirit, strengthened further with the new language editions.

Tributes to 26/11 Victims

On the anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the victims and security forces. He wrote that the terrorist attack was “cowardly” and “heinous.”

He added that “terrorism is not a curse for just one country, but for the entire human race.” He said India’s zero-tolerance policy continues to gain global support.
