A boat carrying several passengers including 10-12 students has turned upside down at river Jhelum at Bantwara in Srinagar
According to the witnesses, around 15 individuals including children were at the intersection of Jhelum River, when the boat just overturned. Resulting in the drowning of its passengers.
As per the local boatsman who rescued some of them, the stronger flow of the water was responsible for the drowning of several passengers.
So far, the four are dead while the 3 are under treatment. As per the officials, the boat was carrying 20 people which also included Students.
To locate the missing persons, a rescue operation has been initiated, by deploying the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force).
