After the RDX blast took place at the residence of Punjab Congress leader from Batala, Aman Jaitipuria, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, on Thursday, condemned the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also held the Home Portfolio in the strongest possible terms, for his utter failure to maintain law and order situation in Punjab. Bajwa also blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government for the poor law and order situation in the border belt of Punjab because the Border Security Force (BSF) exercises its power within the jurisdiction of 50 km of the border, and Batala falls under BSF’s jurisdiction.
“While the border area of Punjab has been shaken up by blasts, the Home Minister Bhagwant Mann earlier left for Australia to witness a cricket match and is now busy campaigning in favour of AAP for the Delhi elections. Mann must quit the Home Portfolio if cannot perform efficiently. He has no right to stay in this position,” Bajwa added. Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that he has proven to be the most ineffective CM and HM the state has ever had. Instead of performing his duties, he left Punjab at the mercy of God for Delhi elections campaigning. Will he ever be sincere enough to work in Punjab?
