Hyderabad, Telangana: BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Sunday called upon party workers to intensify grassroots efforts ahead of the upcoming municipal elections, asserting that only the BJP can free Telangana from “dynasty politics, corruption and misrule” while delivering development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Addressing a Booth Pramukh Sammelan in Hyderabad, Nabin said the BJP’s greatest strength lies in its booth-level workers, organisational network and ideological commitment. Paying tribute to party workers who sacrificed their lives for the BJP in Telangana, he urged cadres to dedicate themselves to taking the party’s message to every household.
“The BJP does politics for service, not for power. We must ensure that every beneficiary of Modi government’s welfare schemes is reached, and every family is connected with the party,” he said, stressing the slogan, “Booth jeeta toh chunav jeeta.”
Targeting both the Congress and the BRS, Nabin alleged that successive governments had failed Telangana through corruption, broken promises and appeasement politics. He accused the Congress government of abandoning its election promises, particularly on employment, and said the youth of Telangana had been betrayed.
Referring to the Kaleshwaram project and Medigadda barrage, he described them as symbols of corruption under the previous BRS regime, while alleging that the Congress was continuing the same governance model. He also criticised both the BRS and Congress for “compromising” with the AIMIM, asserting that the BJP would never indulge in vote-bank politics.
Highlighting the Centre’s achievements, Nabin said the Modi government had lifted 25 crore people out of poverty and transformed lives through welfare initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, PM SVA Nidhi, housing, tap water and LPG connections. He also cited major infrastructure projects in Telangana, including the Uppal Elevated Corridor, MMTS Phase-II, Secunderabad Railway Station redevelopment and the Kazipet Rail Manufacturing Unit.
Recalling the BJP’s support for Telangana’s formation, Nabin praised the late Sushma Swaraj and said the state’s aspirations could only be fulfilled under a BJP government. Expressing confidence that the party would emerge victorious, he declared that the “lotus will bloom in the Telangana Assembly in 2028” and urged party workers to strive for BJP’s victory from the panchayat level to Parliament.
