In a strange story that’s both entertained and appalled Reddit users, a Bengaluru woman shared how a routine walk quickly turned into a chilling experience involving Starbucks coffee and a stranger’s unusually detailed order.
Posting on Reddit, the woman said she was just walking around the city, dressed modestly in a skirt and sleeved blouse, when a man in his mid-30s approached her.
She said he had a ‘Koramangala tech guy-softboy vibe’ and that he was polite, nice, and respectful in the beginning.

From Small Talk to Mind-Blowing Proposal
The two then struck up a conversation and strolled hand-in-hand, talking about cafés and Bengaluru life. The man, at some point, invited her to have a coffee with him, and she went for it. “I don’t know why but I said yes. Bit foolish of me but ya I did take the coffee,” she confessed in her post.
But when about 15–20 minutes into their exchange, events took a weird turn. Taking a sip of his coffee, the man leaned in slightly and said, “Okay, this is gonna sound weird, but can you do me a favor?”
What followed left her amazed. He cracked open his Starbucks cup, stared at her seriously, and requested she spit in it.
“Initially I thought I had misheard him,” she wrote. “I literally asked him, ‘Wait wait… did you just say you want me to SPIT in your coffee??'” When he nodded nonchalantly, she stood up straight away to exit.
An Unexpected Offer
Before she could leave, he made an even more jaw-dropping offer. “He legit goes, ‘I’ll give you Rs. 1,000 if you do it’.”
Horrified and appalled, she fled to the closest metro station to escape him. Later, contemplating the bizarre encounter, she joked about whether she had been robbed of the ‘easiest Rs. 1,000’ of her life.
Reddit Responds
The Reddit thread soon went viral, garnering thousands of upvotes and comments as people commented on the man’s strange offer.
One user teased, “Could’ve been the easiest Rs. 1,000. If the gender were reversed, I’d do it for free.”
Another commenter pointed out the self-respect factor, commenting, “It was Rs. 1,000 for your self-respect. Good thing you didn’t accept the offer.” Many were equally shocked at how nonchalantly the fetishist request was made.
As one commenter wisely suggested: “Woah. Never knew one of my worst nightmares might be another person’s key fetish. What a weird, weird world we live in.”
