According to a senior police official, a Naxalite commander belonging to a banned group called the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was apprehended in Khunti, Jharkhand.
The arrested individual, Sukhram Gudiya aka Rode, was the zonal commander of the PLFI and was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. The police recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and other objectionable items from his possession. On the other hand, three Naxal supporters were killed in a police encounter that occurred on Sunday in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli.
Bitlu Madavi, a commander of Perimili Dalam, Vasu of Perimili Dalam, and Srikant of Aheri Dalam, were identified as the three deceased Naxals. The police had earlier accused Bitlu Madavi of murdering a student named Sainath Narote in March and setting fire to road construction equipment in Visamundi and Alenga on two occasions.
Furthermore, two Naxals, one of whom had a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh, surrendered to the police in the insurgency-ridden Sukma district of Chhattisgarh in April, according to authorities.
