PRAMOD JAIN ‘BHAYA’ of INC has won from Anta, Rajasthan from 69,571votes leaving behind Morpal Suman of BJP. The contest was tight between the ruling INC and the BJP, with significant local and third-party/independent factors in play. 

Anta By-Election Result Date 2025

The by-election for the Anta Assembly seat was scheduled for 11 November 2025 (polling) with counting on 14 November 2025. The seat became vacant after the disqualification of the sitting MLA Kanwar Lal Meena (BJP) following a criminal conviction.

Constituency No. 193 of Rajasthan. It is located in the Baran district, falling under the Jhalawar–Baran Lok Sabha seat. It was established under the 2008 delimitation, the seat has alternated between the BJP and the INC, making it a swing constituency.

Why Is Anta Famous?

Anta has drawn attention for several reasons. It has been a closely contested seat between major parties, making it a barometer of regional political shifts. The vacating of this seat due to the disqualification of Kanwar Lal Meena (for a 2005 criminal case) has injected fresh uncertainty and media focus. It sits in the Hadoti region and near the circle of influence of senior leaders such as Vasundhara Raje, giving it extra political weight.

Kanwar Lal Meena of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the 2023 assembly election in the Anta Assembly Constituency with 87,390 votes (~49.64%). He defeated his nearest rival, Pramod Jain Bhaya (INC), who received ~81,529 votes (~46.31%). 

Anta Election Winner 2018

The winner of the Anta Assembly constituency in the 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election was Pramod Jain Bhaya of the Indian National Congress (INC), who secured 97,160 votes (~58.09 %) and defeated Prabhu Lal Saini of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who got 63,097 votes (~37.73 %).

Pramod Jain Bhaya is a senior Congress leader in the region, having held key portfolios in the state government. His win marked a strong wave for INC in Anta.

The by-election for Anta was triggered because the sitting MLA, Kanwar Lal Meena (BJP), was disqualified following a three-year prison sentence in a 2005 criminal case. This vacancy has created a high-stakes contest — both major parties view it as a test of strength and credibility in the region.
