Relocation of Assam Rifles Headquarters
In addition, Shah spoke about the long-standing demand to relocate the Assam Rifles Headquarters from central Aizawl to Zokhawsang. He described this move as a major step in the Indian government’s efforts toward Mizoram’s development.
Moreover, he stressed that this relocation is not just an administrative decision but a symbol of the government’s commitment to the Mizo people. For over 30 years, the people of Mizoram had been requesting this shift due to the state’s unique geography. Acknowledging this, Shah said, “This demand, which has been around for 30-35 years, is now set to be fulfilled due to an important decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not just an administrative decision but a symbol of the Indian government’s responsibility towards the Mizo people.”
Development of the Northeast Under Modi Government
Additionally, Shah highlighted how the Modi government has been transforming the Northeast over the past decade. He pointed out key developments in tourism, technology, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. As a result of these efforts, the region is witnessing significant growth and unity.
In conclusion, Shah reiterated the government’s unwavering dedication to the Northeast’s progress. Through various initiatives, the Modi-led administration continues to foster development and improve the lives of people in the region.
