1985 Kanishka flight bombing: EAM Jaishankar Reminds Canada of Khalistani Threat

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, on Monday, cited the deadly bombing of Air India flight 182 in 1985 to reiterate its concerns about the threat posed by Khalistani elements in Canada. On Monday, he said that the horrific incident is a stark reminder of why terrorism should never be tolerated. At least, 329 people, including 24 Indians, lost their lives after their flight was hijacked by Khalistan terrorists.

In a social media post, the EAM wrote, “Pay my homage to the memory of the 329 victims of AI 182 ‘Kanishka’ who were killed this day in 1985. My thoughts are with their families.” Earlier, the Indian High Commission in Ottawa marked the 39th anniversary of the same.
