The much-anticipated 150th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat,” aired today on August 31, 2025. PM focused on several key issues, and called for using local products, ‘Pratibha Setu’ portal and other heroic mentions. The milestone episode reinforced the spirit of a united India striving towards its ambitious vision of becoming a developed, inclusive, and sustainable nation by 2047.

Empathy and Solidarity during Natural Calamities

Inaugurating the address, PM Modi felt a deep sense of empathy towards people hit by recent natural disasters during the current monsoon season. Referring to the destruction caused by landslides and floods in some states, he appreciated the tireless work of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Forces (SDRF), and other security officials for their relentless rescue and relief activities. The Prime Minister commended the deployment of cutting-edge technology like thermal cameras, drone surveillance, and live detectors that improved the effectiveness of the disaster response, which demonstrated India’s readiness to meet climate challenges.

Empowering Artisans and Celebrating World Craftsmanship

PM Modi also seized the moment to pay tribute to India’s rich culture of craftsmanship. Praising the toil of artisans and sculptors, whom he referred to as the “Vishwakarma brothers,” he once again assured the artisans of their welfare through schemes such as the Vishwakarma Scheme. The PM emphasized how these artisans are vital to India’s cultural and economic prowess, linking their art skills to the nation’s continued development process.

Remembering National Heroes and Encouraging Unity

Notably, the Prime Minister called on citizens to mark the coming “Hyderabad Liberation Day,” remembering the work of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the historic Operation Polo. Modi played a clip of Sardar Patel’s moving voice mourning the miserable life under the Nizam’s regime, reiterating the theme of India’s integration and the sacrifice for national unity.

Youth Innovation and Digital Education

Echoing the past Mann Ki Baat topics, PM Modi spoke of youth innovation hubs and skill development as a beacon of India’s future development. He called upon students and young working professionals to connect with up-to-date technology and online learning platforms, which play a pivotal role in filling gaps in knowledge and guiding the nation to face global economic challenges.

Encouraging Environmental Sustainability and Green Energy

The second significant area of focus in the episode was environmental awareness. The Prime Minister lauded initiatives nationwide for fitting solar street lights and using green energy alternatives as part of India’s battle against global warming. He asked everyone to actively contribute to such green practices and stressed the need for conserving ecological balance in order to create a strong India for future generations.

A Call for Inclusive Development

During the hour-long address, PM Modi lauded the spirit of the Indian people from all sections of society—farmers, artisans, youth, women entrepreneurs, and social workers, working together for the country’s development. He expressed the vision of a New India that is inclusive, where all individuals get a chance to grow and be a part of the nation’s growth story up to India’s centenary as an independent country.

Nutshell: A Call for Unity and Participation

The 150th edition of “Mann Ki Baat” was not only a look back at India’s journey; it was an emotional appeal for togetherness, innovation, and peoples’ participation. As India sets its march towards 2047, these principles are still the key to the fulfillment of the vision of an inclusive, developed, and sustainable India. The message of PM Modi resonated deeply, urging each of us to actively participate in this transformational process.
