On Thursday, the All-India Senior Selection Committee picked the squad of India for the upcoming 5-match T20 series between India and West Indies (IND vs WI). The BCCI selection committee has decided to give rest to Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 squad for the West Indies tour.
The selectors said Kohli would be in the team’s plan for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah has also been rested from the T20I series. At the same time, Kuldeep Yadav has returned to the team.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav and veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin have returned.
Moreover, the selectors and the team management have not lost faith in Virat Kohli. The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee will continue to support Kohli. According to sources, seeing the complete confidence of the team management in him, Kohli will be considered for both the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup.
