Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V. K. Birdi, led a comprehensive evaluation of security arrangements in Ganderbal district, emphasizing the imperative for a peaceful environment.
Accompanied by Deputy Inspector General CKR Sujit Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, IGP Kashmir unveiled a Canteen cum Recreation Hall at DPL Ganderbal during the review.
Key stakeholders, including other senior police officers, engaged in a detailed discussion on the district’s security scenario, addressing strategies to counter challenges posed by disruptive elements. IGP Kashmir, acknowledging the dynamic nature of emerging threats, announced stringent measures against the propagation of terror narratives on social media platforms. Directives were issued for impartial and resolute action against law violators, underscoring the preparedness of law enforcement agencies to respond swiftly to security incidents. Emphasizing the urgency to intensify anti-terrorist operations, IGP Kashmir urged stern action against entities supporting anti-national activities.
V. K. Birdi, analyzing the crime situation, placed special emphasis on detecting crimes against women, emphasizing that surveillance on such elements would act as a significant deterrent.
Officers were advised to ensure professional investigation in UAPA cases to secure convictions and effectively address the terrorist eco-system.
Additionally, IGP Kashmir directed a heightened focus on combating drug activities in the area, recognizing the gravity of the issue and urging diligent efforts to curb the menace of drug trafficking.
He expressed confidence in the collective endeavors of the security apparatus to uphold public safety and ensure a secure environment. IGP Kashmir also inaugurated the Canteen cum Recreation Hall at DPL Ganderbal, inspecting the infrastructure and facilities available on the premises. He directed officers to actively engage with community members, fostering peace and harmony in the region.
