Being complacent is not something a bureaucrat shall follow said IAS Yashpal Garg while speaking to the TDG to the various awaited complaints of Chandigarhians. He proved it right after passing a stern order on Lohri hammering years long tradition of not delivering DAK to the recipients in time. IAS Yashpal Garg who is Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Estate office also ordered staff to digitize the property ownership verification without creating any nuisance to the applicants. After the complaint of Eminent Counsel Ajay Jagga regarding Estate office that had been pending since decades was sorted within 24 hours. Jagga told TDG that the Removal of ownership verification process of SDO (Buildings) and time bound delivery/ despatch by DAK of estate office are historical decisions and real Lohri gift to the residents of city. The officiating Estate Officer (with additional charge) must be complimented for taking timely decisions, which were awaited for more than a decade. IAS Garg in his order ref No.PA/CEO-CHB/2023/09 on 13 January, states, “It has been complained by some of the applicants that even after signature of the Competent Authorities, the delivery of Orders/NOCS take a considerable time. The delay may be either in the concerned branches or in the dispatch section or may be at both the places. Each of the AEO to please see the status of actual dispatch of the letters and in case any undue delay, strict action to be taken against the concerned officials. For test check, AEOS may telephonically contact some of the applicants to ascertain about the time taken between clearance of file and delivery order to the applicants.”
