Hollywood singer Roberta Flack, an artistic and legendary ‘R&B’ singer known for smooth music hits like ‘The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face’, died 88 years old on Monday, February 24, 2025. Surrounded by family at home, Flack’s death was declared by her publicist, Elaine Schock.
The Grammy-winning singer, who has been fighting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) since 2022, died leaving behind a legacy that influenced generations of music enthusiasts.

Confirming Flack’s death, Schock said in a public message, “We are heartbroken that glorious Roberta Flack left us this morning. She broke barriers and records and was proud to be an educator who also inspired many.”
While Flack could no longer sing in her last years since she was diagnosed with ALS, the impact she made on music has never faded.
