The great exciting matches continued on the ground in Kerala during the third day of the second Hockey India Sub Junior Men and Women South Zone Championship 2024. The winners in both men and women categories were Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Kerala Hockey; Hockey Andra Pradesh also managed to win a match in the women category. The match played between Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Karnataka ended in a draw with 3-3 points on the board.

In the inaugural match, it was Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu that scored an 8-0 victory over Telangana Hockey. Captain Jovian Defny Mj led from the front with a brilliant hat-trick, 9′, 32′, 44′, with Kowsica S. knocking in a brace, 8′, 51′, and single goals by Subika M, 11′, Gopika R, 41′, Harita J 59′.

Hockey Andhra Pradesh blanked Hockey Karnataka 3-0 with goals from Patan Mujiya Begum (29′,59′) and Lakshmi Pariki (12′).

Kerala Hockey routed Le Puducherry Hockey 11-0, Parameswari Pinapothula scoring four goals (22′, 34′, 37′, 46′) and Abhay Jyothi A S netted a hat-trick with goals in the19th, 48th, and 57th minutes. Samad Reshma too scored a brace of goals in the 28th and 52nd minutes with other goals coming from Sabitha (.

In the men’s section, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu thrashed Telangana Hockey by an 11-1 scoreline. Renjith scored four times in the second half (38′, 40′, 54′, 55′), Gowtham hit three more (4′, 41′, 52′) and Nithish J added two (25′, 45′). Krishna Mukil (12′) and Nithish M (13′) also sounded the board. Sairam Chouhan pulled one back for Telangana Hockey with his strike in the 27th minute.

Hockey ended 3-3 between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. For Andhra Pradesh, Hussain Syed Jakeer scored in the 11th minute, Balaji Poola in the 24th minute, and Devaraj Deva Sai Yadav in the 53rd minute, while Kolekar Sohan Chandrashekhar scored a hat-trick for Karnataka in the 46th, 51st, and 60th minute.

Kerala Hockey whipped Le Puducherry Hockey 7-0. Bahala Suraj scored four in the 21st, 26th, 50th, and 56th minutes, Lakra Aditya added two goals in the 52nd and 57th minutes, and Minz Dinesh came up with the other in the 28th minute to decide the question of supremacy.
