On New Year’s Eve, Ambika Soni and Mohit, both students of JECRC College, lost their lives in a hit-and-run accident. The young couple was struck by an unidentified vehicle while crossing the road near Hotel Highway King in the Shyam Nagar police station area.
The collision, believed to be caused by a speeding vehicle, left Ambika Soni and Mohit critically injured. Bystanders rushed them to Sawai Man Singh Hospital, where despite the medical team’s efforts, both victims were declared dead. A police official stated, “The impact of the accident was severe, and immediate medical attention couldn’t save their lives. The police were promptly alerted, and our team is currently investigating the tragic incident.”
Upon reaching the accident site, investigators found a broken mobile phone and scattered parts of the involved vehicle. The case has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the Accident Police Station South, where a thorough investigation is underway to unravel the details surrounding the fatal hit-and-run.
The families of the deceased, both hailing from Makrana, have been informed of the tragic incident. Overwhelmed with grief, the families have come to Jaipur to cope with the sudden loss. The police are diligently working to reconstruct the events leading to the accident and to identify the vehicle responsible for this tragic loss of young lives.
