Haryana Speaker unveils infrastructure boost in Barwala

Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta inaugurated a bridge and four roads in Barwala, Panchkula, constructed by the Mandi Board, PWD B&R, and Irrigation Department, costing around Rs 20 crore.

The projects are expected to be completed in approximately a year. Irrigation Department Executive Engineer Anurag Aggarwal, PWD B&R SDO Anil Kumar, JE Tarun Kumar, and Mandi Board SDO Hemant Sharma were present at the inauguration. Speaker Gupta informed villagers in Toka village that the heavy-load roads, costing Rs 20 crore, would include both cement and concrete, as well as tar.

He emphasised the use of quality materials to ensure the durability of the construction. Gupta highlighted the Haryana Government›s development projects worth over Rs. 6,000 crores in Panchkula district and praised the transformation brought about by the construction of NH 73 from Panchkula to Yamunanagar.

He mentioned the sanctioned amount of Rs 19 crore for minor road repairs, emphasizing the upcoming work for road recarpeting. The Haryana government›s efforts in providing 24-hour electricity, installing 50 new tube wells, and improving water supply infrastructure were also highlighted. Gupta discussed healthcare developments, including the expansion of Sector-6 Civil Hospital from 100 to 500 beds and the foundation stone laid by Chief Minister Manohar Lal for an Rs 800 crore medical college in Sector-32.

He touched upon educational advancements, such as the establishment of Polytechnical cum Multi Skill cum Engineering College and the introduction of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Speaker Gupta praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi›s focus on Ayurveda and the establishment of AYUSH AIIMS in Panchkula MDC. He encouraged citizens to celebrate the consecration of Lord Ram on January 22 by lighting at least five lamps in their homes.
