The Haj Committee of India has conducted a lottery for the aspirants going for Haj in 2024. Rajasthan has been allocated 5036 seats, with 4208 individuals going through the committee and the remaining 828 able to go for Haj on a private basis. This includes 2136 males, 2068 females, and 4 children.
Lottery for 1.40 lakh people According to the Executive Officer of the Rajasthan State Haj Committee, Mahmood Ali Khan, a lottery has been conducted for a total of 1,75,008 aspirants nationwide, out of which nearly 1,40,000 people will go on the Haj pilgrimage through the Haj Committee.
Approximately 35,000 people will embark on the pilgrimage privately. All individuals who applied from Bikaner are included in the lottery. Now, all of them must submit the required fees to the Haj Committee by March to undertake the Haj journey.
The Haj Committee of India has directed that the passport of the aspirants going for Haj must be valid until January 31, 2025. Additionally, it should have been issued before January 15, 2024. After this date, individuals with newly issued passports cannot apply.
Flight dates for the Haj journey for both the departure and return from the Haj pilgrimage have been set. The first flight from Jaipur will be on May 9, 2024. After that, flights to Saudi Arabia will continue on different dates until June 10. Those going for Haj will stay in Mecca and Medina for 30 to 40 days, followed by the return journey scheduled from June 20 to July 21.
35 Thousand Private Pilgrims This year, one lakh seventy-five thousand eight aspirants will go on the Haj pilgrimage from India. Nearly 35,000 individuals will go privately, and over one lakh forty thousand will undertake the journey under the Haj Committee.
The aspirants going through the Haj Committee will need to deposit the money in three instalments according to four lakh rupees per aspirant. The first instalment of 81,500 rupees must be deposited, and the remaining amount will be deposited in the next two months to the Rajasthan Haj Committee. Private pilgrims will need to deposit the entire amount at once.”
