Governor Kalraj Mishra addressed the 31st convocation ceremony of Mohanlal Sukhadia University on Thursday. During this occasion, he said that to make the country the third-largest economy in the world by 2047, it is necessary to make school, college, and university curricula employment-oriented, focusing on entrepreneurship. He added that this will enable the youth to become job providers rather than job seekers.
Governor Mishra said, “The new education policy has a provision to start skill development programs from class 6. This will provide the new generation with a direction on time, enabling them to build their careers properly. Creating curricula in universities according to this requirement is essential.” Referring to India’s leading position in the world in the startup sector, he highlighted the need to make students self-reliant after their education.
Governor stated that the education received in the university should prove increasingly useful for the nation and society, and work should be done accordingly. He said that the opportunity of convocation is not the end of education but an opportunity for transformation into a new life. In the convocation ceremony, Prof. Ramashankar Dubey, the Kulapati of Gujarat Central University, Gandhinagar, delivered the convocation speech. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra of Sukhadia University read the university’s report.
Expressing satisfaction with the students’ leading role, Governor Mishra praised the convocation ceremony where students received 88 out of 115 medals. Out of 186 degrees, 100 degrees were awarded to students.
