The police claim to have identified both killers associated with the Rajput Karni Sena’s National President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. The Director-General of Police has announced a reward of five lakh rupees for the arrest of both assailants. In addition, under the supervision of ADG Dinesh MN of CID-CB, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed, which includes 3 IPS and 5 RPS officers. About six years ago, ADG MN and his team were responsible for the encounter of notorious gangster Anandpal during his vacation.
Director-General of Police Umesh Mishra revealed that the identity of both killers has been established. In the Gogamedi murder case, the police have identified Nitin Faujdhar, alias Fauji, from Mahendragarh, Haryana, and originally from Makrana, and Rohit Rathore, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. A reward of five lakh rupees has been announced for the arrest of both.
The police stated that the accused of Gogamedi’s murder, Rohit, had earlier been arrested under the Arms Act in Udaipur, and after getting bail from the court, he had come to Jaipur. The police are still investigating how and when he came into contact with the Lawrence gang. The police assert that the second assailant is a professional shooter. Therefore, after firing at Gogamedi and before fleeing, he turned back once and shot Gogamedi in the head.
To reach Gogamedi, Navin Singh took the help of a councillor. Gogamedi’s private staff told the police that Navin had recommended meeting the National President of Rajput Karni Sena with Rohit and Fauji. The police are now preparing to interrogate that councillor.

Rajasthan remained shut on Wednesday
The entire state of Rajasthan remained shut on Wednesday in protest against the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Most traders voluntarily kept their shops closed in the morning. Some shopkeepers who opened their establishments faced persuasion from Karni Sena activists, resulting in the closure of those establishments. The shutdown remained peaceful. However, incidents of violence were reported in some places. The police used mild force in Dholpur, Sojat, and Jodhpur to disperse protesters who were breaking bus windows and blocking roads. Train services were halted in Bhilwara. In Jaipur, tires were set on fire at various locations, causing roadblocks. Meanwhile, Karni Sena and Rajput community members, demanding various things, including the arrest of the killers, began a sit-in protest in front of a private hospital in Mansarovar, Jaipur, with Gogamedi’s body. The protest continued late into Wednesday night. However, after the talks the protest ended.
In opposition to the Gogamedi murder case, Karni Sena activists had actively organized blockades across the state since Wednesday morning. After shutting down markets, demonstrators staged protests at various places by burning tires and wooden logs, holding meetings, and paying tribute to Gogamedi. The shutdown was successful throughout the state, including Jaipur. Shops in the Char Diwari area of Jaipur and outer areas remained completely closed. Tea stalls and snack shops were also closed. Several incidents of violence were reported in half a dozen neighbourhoods outside the capital.
The shutdown was entirely successful in places like Bikaner, Bundi, Baran, Dungargarh, Chaksu, Sikar, Shahpura, Jayal, Pungal, Asind, Nagaur, Lalsot, Bhadra, Gogamedi, Pilibanga, Hanumangarh, Deedwana, Shahpura, Lohawat, Dooni, Tonk, Jhalawar, Rajgarh, Alwar, Shrimadhopur, Viratnagar, Pokaran, Sujangarh, Jaisalmer, Bansur, Balotara, Mehendipur Balaji, Dungarpur, Renwal, Ajmer, Lohawat, Jhunjhunu, Dantaramgarh, Sanchore, Barmer, Chaksu, Dausa, Kota, Makrana, Ajitgarh, Anupgarh, Ramdevra, Dhariyawad, Thanagaji, Taranagar, Jodhpur, Luni, Shriganganagar, Jayal, Ramganj Mandi, Fatehpur Shekhawati, Karauli, and Sawai Madhopur.

Deployment of STF and Additional Forces:
During the shutdown, the police administration, along with additional forces, patrolled all areas throughout the day to monitor the situation. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Police Superintendent Dalbal, along with senior officers, stayed at the main markets and intersections. At the protest site in Mansarovar, in addition to the STF, armoured vehicles and riot control vehicles were also deployed. Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph personally supervised security arrangements. Tea and drinking water were provided at the protest site by the demonstrators.
The atmosphere remained tense during the shutdown. With transportation resources unavailable, people had to make significant efforts to reach their offices. Local vehicles did not ply on the roads due to the shutdown. People had to go to distant colonies for tea. However, with the opening of the vegetable market in the evening, homemakers breathed a sigh of relief.
