Linda Hamilton, best known for her legendary portrayal of Sarah Connor in The Terminator films, including Judgment Day and Dark Fate, remains one of Hollywood’s most respected stars. After her success on the big screen, she shifted toward television — but even now, she has no intention of retiring.
Despite being involved in several projects back-to-back, Hamilton admitted she is “really, really tired.” Still, she finds the idea of stepping away from work even harder than keeping up with her busy schedule.
Three Years of Nonstop Work
In an interview with People, Hamilton shared that she worked continuously for three years. During that time, she filmed Resident Alien and Stranger Things in the same year, squeezed in another movie during Stranger Things, and then returned to complete Resident Alien. “I’m tired. Really, really tired. But retirement is a lot harder than working, it turns out,” she said.
Enjoying the Freedom to Focus on Acting
Hamilton has always thrived on a full workload and dislikes slowing down. Now that her children are grown, she can focus entirely on acting — something she always wished for. Without the demands of parenting alongside her career, she can prepare for her roles without guilt, which has deepened her passion for the craft.
A Last-Minute Role in Osiris
Currently, Hamilton stars in the science fiction film Osiris, a role she landed unexpectedly. She revealed that she was called in to replace another actor who had a medical emergency. “They came to me very last minute… maybe 10 days notice and three hard days of work,” she said. The offer came without negotiations, and the pay matched the original actor’s rate. She enjoyed the challenge, working with a dialect coach and handling one of the most dialogue-heavy roles of her career. Hamilton approached it “like a piece of theatre,” arriving fully memorized so she could “just play with it.”
Looking Ahead to Stranger Things
Hamilton will also appear in the final season of Stranger Things, which will be released in two parts — the first in November and the second in December.
