The second reboot of the Fantastic Four series, directed by Matt Shakman, will be available for streaming in India on JioHotstar from November 5 at 12:00 AM. The date was confirmed by the streamer’s official social media handle on Sunday.

The movie, which premiered globally on July 25, is the 37th instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The earlier rendition of the series includes Tim Story’s Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).
Fantastic Four First Steps Box Office Collection
Upon release, the reboot of the fan favourite franchise observed eager fans stepping into theatres to see the franchise make a return after 2007. Released in July, the movie opened to strong box office numbers. The Fantastic Four reboot earned $24.4 million on its preview day–surpassing James Gunn’s Superman–and did another $57 million on its first day—the second highest opening of 2025, after A Minecraft Movie.
In total, the movie ended its theatrical run at the US box office with a total collection of $274.3 million. It added another $247.6 million from its global release, ending its theatrical run at $521.9 million.
Fantastic Four First Steps: A $500 million Box Office Flop
Despite showing impressive numbers on paper, the Matt Shakman movie is a box office flop. This is due to its drop in footfalls by 66% in its second week, according to multiple reports. This reflects a lack of enthusiasm among fans to see the latest Fantastic Four movie in theatres. As a result, the movie also failed to live up to its potential, which could have far exceeded its $521 million box office total.
However, Fantastic Four: First Ste, is not like other box office flops. The movie had favourable reviews from fans and critics alike, with the internet narrative also praising Matt Shakman’s movie. Despite everything going its, the movie still managed to become a flop $ earning 521 million on a reported 200+ million budget.
Its failure is largely attributed to “superhero fatigue,” which indicates a lack of interest among moviegoers towards superhero projects. Contrary to the success of James Gunn’s Superman, which ended its box office run with over $616 million collected worldwide.
