Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, renowned for his role in Mission Impossible and Top Gun franchise has declined Donald Trump’s invitation to be the first group of Kennedy Centre Honorees during President Trump’s second term, reportedly.
The Washington Post stated, “Tom Cruise was offered the honors but declined because of scheduling conflicts, according to several current and former Kennedy Centre employees who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss event plans.”
However, Cruise’s agents have not commented on the matter yet.

US President Donald Trump listed several recipients for the prestigious award, including Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, music icon George Strait, disco legend Gloria Gaynor, rock band KISS, and British theatre star Michael Crawford.
The move follows Trump’s previous efforts to influence the Kennedy Centre Arts Centre. The gala will be held in December and later aired on CBS, will be hosted by the President.

Tom Cruise to Receive Oscar
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science confirmed that Cruise will be awarded with the prestigious Oscar at the Governors Awards on November 16, 2025, for his contribution to cinema.
