Shruti Haasan’s Love for Music
In the interview, Shruti shared that she developed her love for music since childhood. She credited this to her father Kamal Haasan, who is also a revered figure in Indian cinema. She said that Haasan used to sing all around the house when she was little. She shared that her father would create unique games that deepened her relationship with music. This, paired with her mother, Sarika, who also used to play music in the house, made Shruti fall in love with music.
“I think my interest in music was born from my dad singing around the house. My mom is a great connoisseur of music. She always played music around the house. My dad was always singing and all his games were super creative. He would be like ‘Come, let’s talk for half an hour in a language that doesn’t exist and then turn it into a song’,” Shruti told PTI.
She also shared her admiration for her father, calling him a rockstar while also crediting him for her love of music.
“I’ve always said that my dad has a hidden rockstar in him… My dad is an incredible singer. I feel very happy when he sings because I love his voice and I think I do get my singing from him, not in the way of the voice, but the love for singing,” Shruti said.
