After almost a year of release, Raanjhan, the hit song from Kriti Sanon’s film Do Patti, is facing a plagiarism storm. International music producer KMKZ has accused music label T-Series and composer duo Sachet-Parampara of using his beats without credit.
The producer claims his original beats were lifted from YouTube and used in the track, which has now become a massive hit in India.
KMKZ Says His Beats Were Used Without Permission
On Tuesday, KMKZ posted a video on Instagram accusing T-Series of plagiarism. He alleged that his emails to the music label and the composers went unanswered.
In the video, he said, “I produced the number one song in India, and I didn’t even know about it. Here’s what happened. So, I’m a music producer. I sell beats online and I go by KMKZ… I posted this beat about 2 years ago. And then fast forward to just recently, someone sent me this message saying that they found a song, and they recognized the piano as one of my beats, and they didn’t see me credited. So, they wanted me to know about it.”
He further explained how shocked he was when he heard the song, “I see that it has 290 million streams on Spotify. And if you look at the credits for the song, you can see that it’s from T-Series… So, I started sending emails. I emailed the artist. I emailed everybody at T-Series that I could find, and I got zero response from anybody. So, I don’t really know what to do now because they pretty much just ripped the beat off of YouTube and didn’t contact me or pay me or credit me or anything. And now they have a number one song on the Indian Billboard.”
Producer Demands Credit and Recognition
Along with the video, KMKZ also shared a strong message on Instagram. He appealed to his followers to spread the word. He wrote, “If anyone knows anyone who can help me out with this in some way, then please get this video to them and have them DM me asap! And please leave a comment on this video and share it so it can reach the right people.”

He added another strong line, “There are so many stories of producers getting ripped off nowadays, but man, 300m streams and number 1 on Billboard is crazy. I DEMAND A PLAQUE.”
About the Song Raanjhan
Raanjhan was released on November 20, 2024. It was sung by Parampara Tandon, composed by Sachet-Parampara, and written by Kausar Munir. The track is part of the Netflix film Do Patti, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. The film stars Kajol and Kriti Sanon, along with Shaheer Sheikh and Tanvi Azmi.
The song has over 33 crore views on YouTube and nearly 300 million streams on Spotify.
Not the First Time for T-Series
This is not the first plagiarism allegation against T-Series and Sachet-Parampara. Last year, musician Nilanjana Ghosh Dastidar accused them of copying her husband Rajarshi Mitter’s work for the song Maiyya in Do Patti.
With KMKZ’s allegations, the controversy has once again raised questions about copyright and fair credit in the Indian music industry.
