Tushar Jalota’s romantic drama Param Sundari starring Sidharth Malthora and Janhvi Kapoor hit theatres on Friday, 29th August. Produced under the Maddock Films banner, the movie generated decent buzz during its promotional run, with fans eagerly anticipating its release. Now, after completing its day one at the box office, the Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Param Sundari’s Box Office collection is something to keep an eye on to see how the movie performs financially. Can it match the success of Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara?

Param Sundari’s Box Office Collection Day 1

On its first day on the silver screen, Param Sundari managed to collect a total of 7.25 crore on its first Friday, as reported by Sacnilk. The Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer had a 12.92% occupancy rate for its Hindi shows, with the night being the most popular among the audience, with 19.77% occupancy rate (Hindi).

Param Sundari’s first day collection reflects a big turnout in Chennai and Bangalore, with both cities sitting at 24.75% and 24.50% occupancy rates for Hindi shows. Following them is Hyderabad at a 21.75% occupancy rate, showing another big market for the Sidharth Malhotra starrer romantic comedy. Other cities with good occupancy rates for Param Sundari are Jaipur, National Capital Region (NCR), Lucknow and Mumbai, with all of them ranging between 12-13%.

Param Sundari Enjoys Minimum Box Office Competition

Param Sundari is enjoying a comparatively less competitive week at the box office with the only major Hindi release being War 2, which is currently on its 16th day. With fans having not been in a dilemma of choice until the release of the Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 4 and Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files on 5th September, Param Sundari is in an ideal position. The movie’s first weekend collection will reflect its trajectory as it moves towards a more challenging week.

Param Sundari on Track to Becoming a Hit?

The Sidharth and Janhvi Kapoor starrer romantic comedy Param Sundari shows a decent box office number for a romantic comedy in 2025. However, can Param Sundari become one of the rare non-action movies to become a box office hit? One of the movies to have achieved this feat is Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, which minted a reported ₹ 564.75 Cr worldwide (Sacnilk). Another non-action movie that became a box office success is Anurag Basu’s Metro in Dino that collected an estimated total of ₹68.25 crore (approx.) (reported by Sacnilk) on a ₹47 crore budget (reported by India Today).
