Jacklyn Zeman, best known for her role as Bobbie Spencer on the hit soap opera “General Hospital,” has died at the age of 70.

The news was announced by the show’s executive producer. In a statement, Frank Valentini penned “Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work.”

Zeman appeared in over 800 “General Hospital” episodes over the course of 40 years, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” for her role as Nurse Spencer.

Zeman, a New Jersey native, began acting in high school and went on to study dance at New York University before landing her first major television role as Lana McClain on “One Life to Live.”

Zeman is survived by her two children, Cassidy and Lacey. Our condolences with the family of Jacklyn Zeman.
