there was a complete strike in all the crèches against the forceful reduction in the salary of more than 125 Bal Sevaks and helpers working in different crèches under the Indian Child Welfare Council to make it equal to that of Anganwadi workers and helpers and the Federation of UT Employees and On the call of Workraj Chandigarh, a protest rally and demonstration was held in front of the office of Social Welfare Department, Sector 17.

Employees associated with organizations like Electricity, Water, Horticulture, PWD Road, ICCW, MC Electrical, MC Mani Majra, GMSH Sector 16, Smart City, UT and MC Pensioners Association etc. participated in the rage rally. Joined in numbers. The rage rally was presided over by Federation President Raghbir Chand, Rajinder Katoch, Rekha Sharma, Dhyan Singh, Harkesh Chand, Surinder Singh, Naseeb Singh and Gurmeet Singh.

Addressing the rage rally, General Secretary of the Federation Gopal Dutt Joshi, Joint Secretary Bihari Lal, M Subramaniam, M Rajendran, Amrik Singh, Ranjit Singh, Harpal Singh, Prem Pal, jke l:i] Rekha Gora, Tarun Jaiswal, Surindra, Sukhwinder. Singh and Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (Scientific) General Secretary Narayan Dutt Tiwari etc. alleged that the administration is conspiring to eliminate crèches in the name of updating Anganwadis and is also making fun of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao slogan.

And Despite having grabbed property worth crores of Indian Child Welfare Council and having fixed deposits and current account money of about Rs 7½-8 crore, the salary of the employees has been made equal to that of Anganwadi workers without taking any consent from them and it has also been found that the Council Due to lack of funds, the salary is being reduced by taking loan from MCBC Corporation. He said that the Anganwadi workers are given honorarium according to the number of hours they work (considering them as scheme workers), but the employees of the crèches take care of the children continuously for 10-11 hours every day and are full time workers, and they are not given pay scale and DC. What is the justice in the rate being given, which the Social Welfare Department has voluntarily reduced to that of Anganwadi without taking the opinion of the employees and despite crores of rupees being in the council’s account, calling it bankrupt. This matter should be investigated.

Criticizing the decision to reduce the salary of crèche workers by calling it Palana Scheme and making it equal to that of Anganwadi, the union officials said that Anganwadi is a government scheme and their duty time is 4 hours and they get honorarium, whereas those working in the crèche The duty of Balsevaks and helpers is 8 to 10 hours and they were being given pay scale and DC rate, which has been reduced to half, even EPF and ESI have been stopped, and rules are being flouted. Which will not be tolerated at any cost.

The speakers strongly criticized the Chandigarh administration and called for removing the errors left by implementing the central pay scales, giving bonus and other allowances to all the employees on central basis, restoring the old pension, daily wages of those working in the departments for many years, To confirm the contract employees and subordinate the outsourced workers to the department, to quickly fill the vacant promotion posts in the departments, to stop the privatization of departments like electricity department, water supply, health, horticulture etc. and to hand over parks and green belts to private hands.

Canceling the decision, giving revised DC rate, canceling the FIR registered against the electricity workers, implementing the Central Government Health Scheme on UT employees, removing the ceiling in the appointments being made on the compensatory ground, payment of pension and gratuity to the retired employees soon.

Condemning the negative attitude of the administration on their demands, a complete strike was announced in all departments on 16 February 2024. After the strike, a notice in this regard has been sent to the officers like Advisor to the Administrator, Home Secretary, Finance Secretary, Secretary Social Welfare Department, Secretary Personnel, Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner MC etc. and an appeal has been made to all the employees to complete the strike on 16th February. of.
