Great White Northern Spirits (GWNS) officially launched the ‘Indian Aisle in Canada’ on May 21, 2026, at Nuvo Event Space in Canada, marking the debut of Indian spirits in Canada’s duty-free retail network. The initiative introduced premium Indian spirits across major international gateways including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, airports across Alberta, and key land-border duty-free locations in Ontario and British Columbia.
The launch was celebrated with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony that highlighted India’s heritage, craftsmanship, and premium offerings in international retail spaces. The initiative was widely seen as a milestone in India’s expanding global cultural and trade presence, reflecting the growing international demand for Indian products and craftsmanship.
GWNS founders Mr. Balaji Nagaraja and Ms. Pooja S stated that the launch represented more than a commercial expansion, describing it as an opportunity to showcase Indian heritage and create stronger cultural and business ties between India and Canada.
The event witnessed the presence of government officials, diplomatic representatives, trade stakeholders, hospitality professionals, retail partners, cultural leaders, and members of the media. Guests attended networking sessions, explored curated showcases of Indian spirits, and participated in ceremonial celebrations that marked India’s growing influence on the global stage.
