Tragedy struck in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where five members of the same family have tragically taken their own lives. The grim incident involved four individuals hanging themselves, while one person consumed poison. The deceased comprise a husband, wife, and three children. Authorities, upon reaching the scene, initiated an investigation and sealed the house to ensure a thorough examination.
Preliminary information suggests that the motive behind the suicides is severe distress caused by mounting debts. The police promptly removed the bodies for post-mortem at the hospital. The house was sealed from all sides to facilitate investigations, including fingerprinting, without interference.
SP Tejaswini Gautam disclosed that the head of the family, Hanuman Soni, a resident of Antyodaya Nagar, along with his wife and three children, were the victims of this tragic incident. The children’s ages range from 14 to 16 years. Authorities, including the police and Quarantine Squad, are restricting access to the house. A comprehensive understanding of the case awaits an official statement from the police.
The suicides took place in separate rooms, involving Hanuman Soni, his wife Vimala Soni, son Mohit Soni, and daughters Rishi Soni and Gudiya Soni. The tragic event likely occurred 2 to 3 days ago, as newspapers from that timeframe were discovered outside the porch, along with milk left there.
Notably, the family members, out of consideration, opted to end their lives in separate rooms to spare each other from witnessing the devastating act.
