In a major scam, a 23-year-old Hyderabad man loses Rs.12 lakh after falling for a FedEx parcel scam on sunday.
According to the officials, the criminal claiming to be from FedEx told the victim, that his aadhar card is being misused.
Furthermore, he was also informed, that somebody is transferring five kilograms of diabetes pills and fifty grams of MDMA from Mumbai to Saudi Arabia via his number.
Afterward, the culprit pretended to connect the call to Mumbai Cyber Crime and then made a skype video call, where they threatened the victim. And coerced him to give funds to ‘verify his details.’
But, despite being ready to prove his innocence, they still made him transfer the money for ‘investigation purposes.’
Later after learning of this scam, the case got registered with Hyderabad Cyber Crimes police.
These cases reflect the rampant rise of cyber frauds in our country and just recently, another scam was unearthed, where a man from Thane lost ₹40,000 in Tinder scam.
