After joining the Congress, National President of the Farmers’ Mahapanchayat Ram Pal Jat said that the guarantee of the minimum support price (MSP) is a precedent for legal changes in the agricultural system, therefore, the farmers of the state will support the Congress party for the MSP.
He stated, “The Congress has given a guarantee in the announcement letter for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project and the law for procurement at the minimum support price. In contrast, the BJP has not even discussed the law for the guarantee of procurement at the minimum support price. Along with this, the BJP has mentioned working in a phased manner in collaboration with the Center for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project.”
He said that through the Farmers’ Mahapanchayat, the farmers of Rajasthan passed a resolution on July 11 to give their support and vote to the group that provides water to the fields and fair prices for crops. In this way, the farmers will now support the Congress party.
