At least 10 people were killed, and 30 were injured after a truck struck a large crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter early Wednesday, said city officials.
Eyewitnesses said the truck drove into the crowd, creating a commotion before the driver got out of the truck and started shooting a gun. Police responded to the suspect, firing back.
The New Orleans Police Department was not available to speak with CBS News, but according to its spokespeople, the initial reports show a car may have crashed into a group of people, with injuries and confirmed fatalities still under assessment.
