Nora Fatehi is currently flying high. The latest track of the song Oh Mama! Tetema has impressed everyone, and it has now set the stage for her entry into Tamil films through Kanchana 4, the fourth installment of that successful horror-comedy popular franchise-and in doing so marks a milestone in her acting career journey.
“I’m Really Loving New Opportunities,” Nora said. “‘When Kanchana 4 came to me, I thought, ‘Okay, this is what I want to do in Tamil cinema. The franchise has a strong legacy; the script was new and fun, and I would like to be a part of it,’ which is what I was looking for after Madgaon Express; I wanted another comedy.”
Seeing Beyond Language Barriers
Requisite to Tamil proved much ado for Nora. She described, “Language is always a hurdle, but I love challenges-I have done Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam films and now came the Tamil; this is the toughest of all. I have extra hours for rehearsals of lines and pronunciation.”

She relies heavily on the film crew’s motivation: “The nicest part has been the crew’s telling me they did not expect me to be so natural in the comic sequences. Such feedback uplifts me and makes it all about respecting the language, culture and making your best performance.”
Learning From South Indian Movies
Given his share of both the Malayalam and Telugu films, Nora has learned the different strokes that the South Indian cinema has compared to Bollywood. Each film industry has its own flavour.

Tamil films rely more on storytelling, performance and very strong scripts, while Bollywood is into grandeur and spectacle. Both are passionate about films but work, audience expectations, and filmmaking processes differ,” says she.
Promising Path Ahead
Nora Fatehi’s entry into Tamil cinema is a clear testament to her versatility and willingness to face new artistic challenges. With Kanchana 4 looming ahead, audiences may expect another energetic and engaging performance from the multi-talented actress.
Turning this artistic endeavor into a dance, giving her all to comedy, and putting effort into mastering the language are factors that will help carve her identity over the regional and Hindi film industry spaces.
