Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of the late British singer and former One Direction star Liam Payne, shared an emotional tribute on Friday—what would have been his 32nd birthday. After falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Payne sadly died on October 16, 2024.

In her Instagram post, the 26-year-old influencer called Payne the “most special soul” and expressed how deeply she misses him. She shared a heartfelt video capturing cherished moments spent together.
“Special day for the most special soul. I miss you so much. Happy Birthday Liam. I wish we could celebrate together. In the next life I guess,” Cassidy wrote. Within hours, the post gathered more than 136,000 likes.
A Birthday Without Him
Cassidy later shared another tribute, posting several photographs alongside a touching note addressed directly to Payne.
“My dearest Liam, it breaks my heart being that I can’t hand you a physical birthday card today. That I can’t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I’d said a thousand more times,” she wrote, admitting she was struggling to find the right words.
Despite her grief, she wished him a happy birthday, adding that Payne “brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many—especially to me.”

Cassidy reflected on the bond they shared, expressing that Payne continues to shine brightly even though he is no longer here.
