Bigg Boss host Salman Khan‘s alleged paycheck rumour has that Bollywood’s Bhaijaan is demanding between Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore for Biggboss Season 19, making him among the best-paid television hosts in India. The reports have set tongues wagging among fans, who are eager to know if the superstar’s charges are indeed that humongous.
Producer Rishi Negi Reacts to Fee Rumor
Discussing the buzz, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India CEO Rishi Negi explained that he couldn’t verify the numbers. Talking to India Today, he said, “This deal is between him and JioHotstar, so I am not privy to that.” But he was quick to mention, “Whatever the rumour is, he is worth every penny. As long as he is there on my weekend, I am a happy person.”
Negi’s comments indirectly validate what fans already feel Salman’s presence defines the weekend episodes and keeps the audience hooked season after season.

On Accusations of Bias and On-Screen Guidance
The producer also rejected common allegations that Salman biases towards some contestants. Salman himself, he said, watches episodes or promos prior to the weekend shoots and takes suggestions from people around him who keep up with the show religiously. Such allegations are not new, he asserted, pointing out that both the host and the production team temper their weekend interactions according to audience mood and current dynamics.
Negi also spoke about another long-standing rumour that Salman takes signals via an earpiece. In a laughing tone, he said, “It’s impossible to make Salman utter anything that he does not believe in.”

Salman Khan’s Deep Connection with Bigg Boss
Rishi Negi unveiled that Salman has grown extremely close to the show emotionally over the years. “You see it on stage when he talks about a contestant or a problem, it is from the heart,” he confessed. While there have also been instances where Salman has complained of fatigue, Negi conceded, “He sometimes tells me he can’t do more, but fortunately, he always agrees.”
Salman Khan the Face of Bigg Boss Since 2010
Salman Khan started hosting Bigg Boss Season 4, getting a share of the limelight for a while with Sanjay Dutt in the following season. Since then, other than temporary replacements like Farah Khan, Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor, the program has been equated with Salman whether or not he is being paid an unprecedented sum, one thing fans are certain about Bigg Boss without Salman Khan simply doesn’t cut it.
Bigg Boss 19 is telecast on Colors TV at 10:30 PM and live streams at 9 PM on JioHotstar.
