The trailer of Rise and Fall, a new reality show hosted by entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, has created strong buzz. The show will stream soon on MX Player. It promises a unique mix of drama and strategy with a format that divides contestants into “rulers” and “workers.” Among the 16 participants are actor Arjun Bijlani, comedian Kiku Sharda, actress Kubbra Sait, and dancer-choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The promo already hints at tension, with Dhanashree making a cryptic remark that instantly grabbed attention and the show marks Grover’s debut as a host and positions itself as a social experiment contrasting privilege and struggle.

The Format of Rise and Fall

The format divides contestants into two distinct groups and the rulers enjoy comfort and luxury, while the workers face life in the basement. Contestants must navigate shifting alliances, trust issues, and sharp strategies while in the trailer, viewers see Kiku Sharda and Kubbra Sait relaxing as rulers while the workers endure physical challenges. Kiku is heard saying, “Trust me, we will only win by banding together.” The moment takes a sharp turn when Dhanashree interrupts with the line, “Trust bohot pehle toot chuka tha.” The remark instantly sparked speculation about her personal life.

Dhanashree’s Personal Journey

Dhanashree Verma divorced cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal earlier this year after months of speculation. The couple tied the knot in December 2020 in Gurgaon. However, by March 2025, the separation became official, with both parties confirming it. Dhanashree opened up about her emotional breakdown during the final divorce hearing in a conversation with Humans of Bombay. She admitted she could not speak and simply broke down crying. At the same time, Chahal appeared in a t-shirt that read, “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.” Dhanashree later questioned the move, saying, “Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyun pehna hai?” Her candid tone added another layer to her already complex public persona.

Grover’s Debut as a Host

Ashneer Grover called the concept a “captivating social experiment.” He highlighted the contrast between privilege and hardship as the central theme. The series marks his entry into reality television and adds another high-profile project to MX Player’s lineup.
