Popular television actor Dalljiet Kaur has accused her ex-husband, actor Shalin Bhanot, of walking away from their son Jaydon’s life without any explanation. In a recent interview, she said Shalin vanished after her second marriage ended, leaving their son confused and hurt. She stressed that no child should face such trauma and revealed how Jaydon looked for his father in the sudden void.
Dalljiet Kaur Speaks Out
Dalljiet told Free Press Journal that the disappearance was shocking. She said one moment Shalin was present, and the next, he was gone. According to her, he did not vanish from her life, but from his child’s. She explained that she always focused on Jaydon’s best interest. After their divorce, she and Shalin had an understanding that he could visit their son anytime. She said he used to celebrate birthdays, visit restaurants, and spend important days with Jaydon.

Shalin Present for Nine Years
For nine years, Shalin stayed connected. Dalljiet welcomed him because she believed Jaydon deserved a father. She never initiated the meetings because she felt the effort must come from him. But suddenly, after nine years, he stopped coming. Dalljiet said children cannot understand divorce or anger. At two, Jaydon only knew that Shalin was his dad. She said she never denied Shalin the respect of fatherhood, but she could not understand why he chose to vanish.
Jaydon’s Painful Questions
The actor revealed the toughest part was facing her son’s innocent questions. She said Shalin’s parents never wanted to be involved, which she accepted. But for Shalin to walk away when Jaydon was nine was deeply unfair while she shared how Jaydon felt guilty, thinking he did something wrong to make his father disappear. He asked her many times what went wrong, and she had no answers. She said that kind of abandonment leaves scars no child should carry.
Why Dalljiet Cannot Forgive?
Dalljiet said maybe Shalin feared she would ask for financial help after her second marriage ended. She made it clear she never needed his money and continues to earn on her own. What she could not forgive was his choice to abandon Jaydon. She said she would continue to speak about it until her anger fades because the hurt runs too deep.
Life After Television
Last year, in an interview with ETimes, Dalljiet said she took a break from television to focus on Jaydon. She explained that daily TV schedules are not flexible for a single mother. She worked on an OTT project titled Chitta Ve, which dealt with substance abuse. She also started a YouTube channel that she described as a self-healing project.

Her Personal Journey
Dalljiet married her Kulvaddhu co-star Shalin Bhanot in 2009. The couple divorced in 2015, and she received custody of Jaydon. In 2023, she married Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel. However, the marriage ended in separation in 2024.
