Elderly Man Complains to Akshay Kumar About Public Toilet Maintenance

While casting his vote for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 in Mumbai, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was approached by an elderly man with a complaint about a public toilet he had installed near Juhu Beach. The toilet, set up by Akshay in 2018, had been poorly maintained by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), causing inconvenience to locals.

The public toilet was initially installed by Akshay after his wife, Twinkle Khanna, highlighted the issue of people openly defecating on Juhu Beach in a 2017 post. Akshay, in collaboration with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray, funded the installation of bio-toilets near Juhu and Versova beaches, costing Rs 10 lakh, to address the sanitation issue.

Elderly Man Complaints About Lack of Maintenance

In the video, the elderly man greeted Akshay and shared his dissatisfaction with the lack of maintenance from the BMC. He mentioned that he had been managing the toilet himself for the past few years. Akshay assured him, saying, “Thik hai, uspe kaam kar lete hai. Main baat kar lunga BMC se.”

Actor’s Response

Despite Akshay’s assurance, the elderly man expressed frustration over the continuing expenses involved in maintaining the toilet due to the BMC’s negligence. The man even requested Akshay to install another toilet. Akshay responded, “Dabba toh main de chuka hoon… Vo sadd gaya hai toh vo BMC dhyaan rakhegi,” emphasizing that he had already done his part and it was now up to the civic body to take care of it.
