NSUI Workers Booked For Storming NTA Office Amid NEET Protest

A case has been filed against NSUI workers after they forcibly entered the NTA office during a protest against issues related to NEET, stated Delhi Police on Thursday. The case was registered under various sections of the IPC including 186, 353, 452, 342, and 34.

This development follows a protest organized by members of the Congress’ National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) at the National Testing Agency (NTA) office regarding alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2024. Delhi Police officials were present at the NTA office during the NSUI protest on Thursday.

Varun Choudhary, National President of NSUI, expressed, “We are continuously demanding from the government that NTA should be banned. Students now do not believe in the examination being conducted by the NTA.” He added, “Today we peacefully protested …neither the BJP government is taking any action on this issue nor they are banning the NTA.”

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, stating that the government is committed to conducting a fair investigation into recent incidents of paper leaks and ensuring strict punishment for those responsible.

Amid widespread protests over alleged irregularities in NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency, opposition parties plan to raise the issue in Parliament on Friday. Leaders of the opposition coalition INDIA bloc discussed various issues during a meeting at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence earlier in the day, as reported by ANI.

The NTA, responsible for conducting NEET-UG exams, has faced criticism over alleged irregularities, prompting protests nationwide and calls from protestors and political parties for the NTA to be disbanded.
