The Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta have solidified their positions among the world’s top 50 MBA programs for employability in the prestigious QS Global MBA Rankings 2024. IIM Bangalore leads among Indian institutions, securing the 48th position globally, followed closely by IIM Ahmedabad at 53rd and IIM Calcutta at 59th. These rankings highlight the global competitiveness of Indian B-schools, particularly in producing highly employable graduates.
The QS rankings are based on various parameters, with employability being a key indicator. Indian institutes have consistently performed well in this area, reflecting their strong industry connections and high placement rates. IIM Bangalore, in particular, has excelled in the employability indicator, placing within the top 30 globally for its return on investment (ROI) and alumni outcomes. Additionally, IIM Ahmedabad’s strength in entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes has contributed to its high ranking.
The success of these institutions is attributed to their rigorous academic programs, global exposure, and strong industry collaborations. However, experts note that Indian business schools still face challenges, particularly in areas such as diversity, where progress has been slower.
