The protest by Rajasthan University students seeking the postponement of the RAS Main Recruitment Examination, organised by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and scheduled for January 27th and 28th, continued on Friday.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar visited the protesting candidates on Friday to address their concerns. The students, who had passed the pre-exam, expressed dissatisfaction, claiming inadequate time for preparation before the main examination.
Assuring the agitated students, Minister Dilawar stated that a favourable decision would be reached after discussions with the Chief Minister. The ongoing protest highlights the students’ plea for additional preparation time, and the Education Minister has conveyed the intention to consider their concerns positively.
Candidates complained that discrimination was being done against them. They said that usually ample time is given for preparation. They quoted, “The time given in 2018 and 2021 as 10 months and 5 months respectively. So why the same system is not being followed this time?” They raised their voice considering this as injustice.
Along with the sit-in protest the candidates have raised this question on social media expecting sensitivity from the government. The youth across the state have started a campaign against this, from the streets to social media. So far 20 MLAs have also written letters to the government in support. Despite this, no change has been made in the date of the recruitment examination by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission so far.
One of the protesters said that less than three months of time between the pre-and main examination is not enough. Despite this intensified protest, no positive response has been seen from the government.
“The decision to extend the date is not mine alone,” said Education Minister Madan Dilawar after meeting the candidates.
He added, “This decision will be taken at the Chief Minister level. We all together will consider this with positive thinking.” Further, he said that he is hoping for the same.
Minister Dilawar also inspired school students on National Youth Day
During the Career Day and National Youth Day program organised at Martyr Lieutenant Abhay Pareek Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that students should draw inspiration from the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and make themselves powerful. Take a pledge to build the nation as responsible citizens, honour the country, and enhance its strength.
He said that youth and students should think innovatively and move forward, making themselves powerful in every field to strengthen the country.
The Education Minister said, “Swami Vivekananda spread the cultural, spiritual, and religious uniqueness of our country throughout the world, making people familiar with our strength. He instilled a sense of greatness in our country in the world. Under the leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this fact is being emphasized more.
