Earthquake tremors with a magnitude of 5.5 were felt in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, shaking the ground. Jolts of an earthquake were experienced in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, Poonch, Kishtwar, Ladakh, and some districts of Himachal Pradesh at 3:48 PM, as reported by the National Center for Seismology. The epicenter of the earthquake, rated at a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale, was at a depth of 10 kilometers within the Earth’s surface in Kargil, a centrally administered region of Ladakh. There have been no reports of damage from the earthquake. As soon as the tremors were felt, people rushed out of their homes and other buildings and remained outside for a considerable duration. However, there’s been no information about any loss of life or property due to these tremors.
