A dry day has been announced in the Karanpur Legislative Assembly election area and its 3 km surrounding vicinity from January 3. This decision is in conjunction with the by-election scheduled for the Karanpur Legislative Assembly constituency on January 5.

The Rajasthan Election Commission has issued a strict order:
To ensure the proper maintenance of law and order during the upcoming general elections in 2023, the Election Commission has issued an order for the Karanpur Legislative Assembly election area. According to the order, a dry day has been declared from the evening of January 3, 2024. To enforce the dry day regulations during the Karanpur Legislative Assembly election, the Excise Department has issued an order under Section 135-G of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. This order specifies that all activities within the Karanpur Legislative Assembly election area, its 3 km surrounding area, and the counting day on January 8, 2024, are declared as dry days in the Karanpur Municipal Area. In the event of re-polling, the dry day declaration will remain in effect for the areas of the polling centres associated with the re-polling date until the re-polling process is completed.
During a dry day, the sale of alcohol is prohibited in the designated area. Consequently, a dry day has been officially announced from January 3 within a 3 km radius of the Karanpur Legislative Assembly election area. This restriction aligns with the voting schedule set for January 5.
