Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Prime Minister’s Office, visited the prestigious AIIMS Jammu project, issuing directives for its swift completion.
During his on-the-spot inspection, Dr. Jitendra Singh directed both the AIIMS administration and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to expedite the project’s construction to facilitate an early formal inauguration. The Minister urged them to intensify their efforts and work in double shifts round the clock to meet the set deadlines.
Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, had sanctioned two AIIMS for Jammu and Kashmir to enhance healthcare facilities for the people of the Union Territory. Emphasizing the importance of early project completion, the Minister expressed the government’s commitment to dedicating this premium healthcare facility to the people of Jammu division and the surrounding areas
Addressing the media during the visit, Dr. Jitendra Singh cited several successful initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir, including the completion of projects like the rail line connecting Kashmir to the rest of the country, the Purple Revolution, a surge in tourist visits, and the pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. He attributed these outcomes to the transformative initiatives undertaken by the government in the region.
During his inspection, Dr. Jitendra Singh visited various facilities within AIIMS Jammu, including the AYUSH Block, Convention Centre, OPD Block, Hospital Block, and Emergency Block. He actively engaged with the ongoing construction work, providing guidance and suggestions for necessary improvements to ensure that the institute caters to the healthcare needs of a large population with the best facilities.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress, Dr. Jitendra Singh lauded AIIMS Jammu as a state-of-the-art project, distinguishing it from similar ventures across the country. He particularly appreciated the completion of residential accommodations for faculty, students, and other residents, equipped with modern facilities and gadgets. The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards in healthcare infrastructure for the benefit of the people in the region.
