Following a historic political comeback, Donald Trump is on his way back to the White House. But he is having trouble with his foray into luxury timepieces. The majority of the high-end, $100,000 clocks that bear his name are still unsold.
Poor Sales for Trump-Branded Watches
The Trump tourbillon watches, priced at $100,000 each, have seen low demand. Montrichard, the Swiss manufacturer, has received orders for only about 10% of the 147 gold and diamond-encrusted watches listed on gettrumpwatches.com. David Gouten, a watch industry veteran overseeing the project, said, “We are working on a new website and things like that to help promote and push it more.”
Although the watches gained international attention at their September launch, critics questioned their price and potential political implications.
Expanding Trump’s Product Legacy
Trump has long licensed his name to a variety of products. His portfolio includes items like Trump steaks, water, seminars, guitars, sneakers, and cryptocurrency ventures. The tourbillon watch is now the priciest addition to his branded collection.
High-End Watches and Their Appeal
Tourbillon watches, known for their intricate mechanisms, are designed for precision and exclusivity. These timepieces are often sold with open-face dials or transparent backs, emphasizing their craftsmanship. The Trump-branded tourbillons are the most expensive in the range, highlighting their luxury appeal.
Montrichard, a private-label watchmaker with operations in Switzerland, Asia, and the U.S., produces the Trump watches. BestWatchesonEarth LLC, based in Sheridan, Wyoming, handles sales but has not responded to inquiries.

Strict Rules for Buyers
The production cost of a Trump tourbillon watch is at least $25,000. Gouten explained that the $100,000 price is standard in the luxury market. Buyers must verify their identities by submitting passports before purchasing. “Not everyone can buy the watch,” Gouten said. “They don’t want the products to be used as a political weapon—so, no terrorist-state clients.”
Despite leading the project since October, Gouten has yet to meet anyone from BestWatchesonEarth LLC in person.
Future Potential as Collectibles
In addition to the tourbillons, Montrichard is creating lower-priced models, including ones named “Crypto President” and “Fighter.” Montrichard CEO Remi Chabrat confirmed his company makes the Trump watches but did not disclose details about the cheaper models or their sales.
Chabrat expressed optimism about the watches’ long-term value. He said, “In 50 years, a tourbillon Trump watch will really be a collectible product.”
