Kangana Ranaut, known for carving her own path in Bollywood, has rarely collaborated with the big stars, including the Khans or the younger generation like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. However, in a recent interview, the actress-turned-politician revealed that she had been offered several high-profile films, including Sanju, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Sultan.
Ranbir Kapoor requested Kangana for Sanju
Discussing the offers she declined, Kangana recalled that Ranbir Kapoor personally approached her for a role in his hit film Sanju. Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, she mentioned that Ranbir had visited her home and “pleaded” with her to take on a part, though she didn’t specify which role. Ultimately, actresses like Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, and Karishma Tanna were cast in the key roles.
Akshay Kumar’s comments on Kangana’s rejections
Kangana also shared that Akshay Kumar wanted to work with her in Singh Is Bliing. When she turned down the offer, Akshay remarked, “Tu hai naa… mere saath hi kaam nahi karna chaahiti hai! Tere ko naa mujhse koi problem hai” (You just don’t want to work with me, do you? I think you have a problem with me). When Kangana clarified that there wasn’t an issue, Akshay asked, “Phir, tune itni kyun pictures mere saath reject kiya?” (Then why have you rejected so many movies with me?).
Kangana’s reasons for rejecting Salman Khan’s films
Kangana is selective about her roles, preferring strong characters. She explained why she declined Salman Khan’s films, saying, “I was like, ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?'” (What is this role?). After turning down Sultan, Salman asked, “What more do I offer you now?”
