Defense State Minister Ajay Bhatt inspected Western Command Headquarters today. Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar briefed him on operations, security, and administrative matters. Bhatt also visited the 474 Engineer Brigade, assessing their capabilities. He observed training sessions and engaged with soldiers in Zirakpur and Chandimandir. He commended Western Command’s service at Mohali’s rehabilitation center and Panchkula’s ex-servicemen’s home. Bhatt praised soldiers’ morale and urged them to maintain dedication.
During his visit to the Headquarters of the NCC Group, Chandigarh, Major General MS Mokha, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh welcomed him. After inspecting the ceremonial guard, the minister addressed a gathering of 250 NCC cadets along with other officials, urging them to strive for excellence in all spheres of life and to become good citizens. Following his address, he shared his experiences with the NCC cadets as an NCC cadet himself.
The minister also enjoyed a cultural program presented by the NCC cadets. The Defense State Minister later also took stock of the research and development activities at TBRL located in Ramgarh.
